On Friday, January 17, 2025, the second partnership meeting for the cross-border project BEroots – Between Rivers and Lagoons: Artistic Routes took place at the People's University of Ajdovščina. The project brings together various Slovenian and Italian partners with the aim of revitalizing cultural and natural heritage and promoting sustainable tourism in the project area.
During the meeting, the partners reviewed the work completed so far and outlined the key activities for the coming months.
The Municipality of Vipava has started the renovation of the Zdravljica House in Podnanos, a historical and cultural building that will gain new significance as part of the project and be integrated into the local tourism offer.
The Municipality of Savogna d’Isonzo has prepared plans for the cross-border hiking and cycling route in their area that will connect natural and cultural landmarks. Additionally, in the coming months, they will begin establishing two rest areas for visitors.
The Municipality of Savogna, in collaboration with SDGZ-URES, organized a musical event that will take place on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Savogna. This is one of the first events organized as part of the BEroots project.
TRG Vipava and SDGZ-URES presented proposals for the design of directional signs that will be installed along the cross-border hiking and cycling route.
The People's University of Ajdovščina, together with students, developed the concept for two thematic routes: one dedicated to musical heritage and the other to wild foods, with a focus on local traditions and sustainability.
VEGAL introduced the calendar of events for 2025, which will combine artistic, cultural, and tourist content within their area.
A significant part of the meeting was devoted to developing a brochure on lesser-known artists who have left a meaningful mark on the cultural heritage of the project area. The partners compiled a list of artists, defined the concept and graphic design of the brochure, and discussed the scope and content of the texts, which will be prepared in the upcoming months.
After the content discussions, the partners reviewed the financial status of the project and aligned plans for future expenses and activities.
The meeting concluded in a relaxed atmosphere with a social lunch, further strengthening the collaboration among the partners.
The BEroots project successfully combines cross-border cooperation and innovative approaches to promoting cultural heritage and sustainable tourism. The partners expressed their satisfaction with the effectiveness of the meeting, which was deemed crucial for coordinating activities and advancing the project's goals.
