Students4Cooperation

STUDENTS4COOPERATION – High school competition

Student4Cooperation is an initiative that aims at actively engaging young people in European Territorial Cooperation - Interreg through an educational and fun activity, while highlighting the significance of their contribution to the development of their local communities. 

The competition was developed by our IVYs under the supervision of staff members of the Managing Authority and in collaboration with the Directorate general for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission (DG REGIO). 

The competition was launched on the 26thAugust 2024 and was open to high schools within the Italy-Slovenia Programme area.

Students were tasked with forming a team and preparing their own Interreg project in written form, choosing between one of the themes proposed in the Guidelines:

  1. Information and communication technologies
  2. Circular economy / Nature
  3. Sustainable tourism
  4. Better cooperation between schools or youth associations

 

Alla scadenza del termine per la trasmissione delle proposte progettuali della competizione STUDENTS4COOPERATION (1° dicembre 2024) sono pervenute 7 proposte da 6 scuole diverse.

First phase

The jury met on the 11th of December 2024 and following the procedure described in the competition Guidelines agreed on the ranking list, found in the Italian and Slovenian translations.

News

 

Second phase

With the online meeting on 7th March 2025, the second evaluation phase of the STUDENTS4COOPERATION high school competition came to an end. The teams were asked to present their project idea with a video or PowerPoint presentation. After listening carefully to the presentations of all teams, the jury decided on the winners of the competition:

  • the team from 4th class ESABAC of the Liceo linguistico Scipio Slataper of the Istituto superiore Dante Alighieri in Gorizia with the project LET'S JOIN - I.S.Y. Italian and Slovenian youth. 
  • second place was the team from 4th class of the Znanstveni licej Simon Gregorčič from Gorizia with the project DOSLA - Dobrodelni slavček. 
  • third place went to the I.S.I.S. Nautico ‘Tomaso di Savoia Duca di Genova - L. Galvani’ team from Trieste with the project INSIEME - Iniziamo Noi Scuola Isola Ecologica Modello Ecosostenibilità.

Awarding ceremony

The winning team form the Liceo linguistico Scipio Slataper (Gorizia) took part in the awarding ceremony on the 27th March at the Teatro Verdi in Gorizia, during the first day of the main event “Interreg GO!”.

The Director of the Directorate general for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission (DG REGIO) Slawomir Tokarski and the Managing Authority of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme Laura Comelli gave the award to the students who will travel to Brussels and visit the European institutions.
