The Task Force can begin its analysis based also on two drafts Orientation Papers announced by the European Commission: the first is the “ESPON Border Paper”, prepared on behalf of the European Commission by ESPON for all 38 land borders subject to Interreg programming; the second is the EC DG REGIO’s Orientation Paper.

Both Papers are intended to illustrate the key characteristics of the “border region” and the outlined directions for future cooperation, thouh not representing a mandatory tool for the Task Force.

The final versions of the mentioned Papers will be available between Spring and Autumn 2026.
