The European Commission urged the Managing Authorities, especially those of programmes in an advanced stage of implementation for the 2021-2027 period, such as Italy-Slovenia, to initiate the programming phase 2028-2034. Programme partners (Italian Republic, Republic of Slovenia, Region Friuli Venezia Giulia and Region of Veneto), by welcoming this invitation agreed to start the post-2027 programming Task Force, which was established on December 16th, 2025.
