The Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) programme is a volunteering initiative funded by the European Commission, managed by the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR), and designed to involve young people aged 18 to 30 in European Territorial Cooperation programmes and projects.

Through the IVY programme, young volunteers have the opportunity to gain international experience, engage directly with the world of cross-border cooperation, and contribute to promoting the values of solidarity, collaboration, and European participation.

At the same time, it is also an opportunity for Interreg programmes and project partners, who can benefit from the support of young volunteers in communication, awareness-raising, and the promotion of project results, thereby increasing their visibility and impact across the territory.

By bringing in fresh ideas, skills, and young perspectives, IVY strengthens the link between local communities, European Union-funded programmes and projects, and new generations, transforming European cooperation into a concrete, shared experience capable of generating value for territories and the people who live there.

Our programme has been part of the initiative and has hosted IVY volunteers since 2017. Many of them continued their collaboration after the end of their volunteering period and became part of the Programme staff. This shows that IVY is also a valuable career opportunity.

If you are part of a project interested in involving new young people, or if you would like to take part in the initiative, visit the website for more information!

The IVY digital badge certifies the organisation’s participation in the Interreg Volunteer Youth initiative as a host organisation. The badge can be used to acknowledge the experience carried out within the initiative and can be shared on the organisation’s website, LinkedIn, e-portfolio and other digital channels.
