Coordinated call

Coordinated call

The Coordinated Call is a joint initiative developed within the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM), involving ten Interreg programmes in the Mediterranean area with the objective of strengthening the capitalization of project results and promoting their transfer, adaptation, and dissemination in new territorial contexts. While sharing a common methodological framework and coordinated participation principles, each participating programme publishes its own call with specific rules, timelines, and documentation for beneficiaries within its respective cooperation area.

To submit a proposal, projects must identify an output developed under another programme participating in the MMM and demonstrate how it will be reused, adapted, or further developed in a new territorial context, thereby contributing to the capitalization and valorisation of Interreg cooperation results.

Coordinated Call Information Events

On 16 June 2026, a joint event was held to present the Coordinated Call of the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism, during which the functioning of the mechanism, the common methodology, and the opportunities offered by the participating programmes were presented.

In addition, on 22 June 2026, the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme organized a webinar for its beneficiaries to provide more detailed information on the opportunities offered by the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM). During the event, participants were informed about the procedures for participating in the coordinated calls and the opportunities available to programme beneficiaries, with a particular focus on the Mediterranean Peer Learning Visits (MPLV).

Opportunities for Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme Beneficiaries

The Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme will not publish its own call within the framework of the Coordinated Call of the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM). However, programme beneficiaries may participate in calls published by other programmes participating in the MMM, provided they comply with the eligibility requirements established by each call.

Among the planned calls, beneficiaries of the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme may capitalize on outputs generated by Italy–Slovenia projects through calls published by the Interreg Italy–Croatia and Interreg Euro-MED Programmes, thanks to the compatibility of their respective cooperation areas. Participation modalities and eligibility criteria are defined in the respective calls.

Programme beneficiaries may also participate in calls published by other programmes, according to the rules and conditions established by each programme.

Further information on the Interreg Italy–Croatia and Interreg Euro-MED calls is provided below.

1. Interreg Italy–Croatia – 4th Call for Proposals

The 4th Call for Proposals of the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme is the first call launched under the Coordinated Call of the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism and was opened on 16 June 2026. The call finances capitalization projects dedicated to the reuse, adaptation, and enhancement of outputs developed by other programmes participating in the MMM, with particular attention to sustainable tourism.

Italian beneficiaries located within the cooperation area of the Italy–Slovenia Programme may participate as project partners. As Slovenia is not part of the cooperation area of the Italy–Croatia Programme, Slovenian beneficiaries may be involved as associated partners, in accordance with the rules established by the call.

The call will remain open until 15 September 2026 and has a budget of approximately EUR 5.86 million ERDF.

2. Interreg Euro-MED – 7th Call for Proposals

The 7th Call for Proposals of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme is also part of the Coordinated Call initiative under the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism and is dedicated to the capitalization of results developed by programmes participating in the MMM. Through this call, projects will be required to capitalize on existing outputs by promoting their transfer, adaptation, and dissemination throughout the Euro-MED Programme cooperation area, thereby contributing to a broader impact at the Mediterranean level.

The call is expected to open on 1 September 2026 and close on 30 September 2026. It has an allocation of approximately EUR 8 million ERDF.

Beneficiaries from the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme, both Italian and Slovenian, may participate as project partners and submit project proposals in accordance with the conditions established by the call.
