The Small Projects Fund (SPF), established in accordance with Article 25 of Regulation (EU) 2021/1059, is dedicated to initiatives that can be implemented in the framework of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica-Gorizia and envisages, in accordance with the provisions of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme, the allocation of € 6.593.576,00 of ERDF funds to the EGTC GO / EZTS GO, a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation founded by the Municipalities of Gorizia, Nova Gorica and Šempeter-Vrtojba in 2011 pursuant to Regulation (EC) no. 1082 /2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council, as the sole beneficiary.

The SPF intends to finance, on the basis of annual calls for proposals published by the EGTC GO/ EZTS GO, small projects within the specific Objective 4.6 of the Programme, with a bottom-up approach. These small projects will aim to "strengthen the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation".

Two types of projects are expected:

  • short projects, with a maximum duration of twelve months and a budget of between €30,000 and €100,000.
  • long projects, lasting more than twelve months but ending within 24 months with a budget of up to 200,000€

The first SPF GO! 2025 Call for Proposals no. 1/2023 was published on 23/2/2023.
