At the European Week of Regions and Cities, the week dedicated to Europe's regions and cities that takes place every year in Brussels, the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme will once again be present. On October 9th, 2024 from 10:30 to 12:30, at the Regional Office of Friuli Venezia Giulia in Brussels (Rue du Commerce, 49), the event #CROSSINGITA-SLOWLY - 2 programmes cooperating for sustainable tourism opportunities will take place. The event is organised in cooperation with the Interreg Italy-Croatia Programme.
The event is structured a participatory workshop that will involve representatives of 17 Interreg Italy-Slovenia and Interreg Italy-Croatia projects in addition to Italian, Slovenian and Croatian politicians and representatives of the European Commission. The projects were selected based on their affinity with the theme of the participatory workshop, which will be dedicated to sustainable tourism opportunities in the territories between Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. The meeting is aligned with Theme 3 of EURegionsWeek, namely Smart and Sustainable Growth for Regions.
The workshop aims at creating new synergies between the projects of the two programmes and upgrading the pilot cooperation project #movingITA-SLOwly, which was presented in 2023 and developed by the strategic projects of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme. This innovative cooperation between two Interreg programmes would like to enhance the cooperation between strategic projects, namely the tourism product #movingITA-SLOwly and make it recognisable as #CROssingITA-SLOwly.
The meeting is part of the ‘EURegionsWeek close to you’ programme, i.e. the side events of the official programme of the European Week of Regions and Cities. Even though the workshop is a part of the official event, the participating programmes manage the organisation of this session independently.
