Join us to celebrate the 390th anniversary of the first tourist visit to Vilenica Cave and the 60th anniversary of its reopening. Come and discover the mysteries of the Karst underground, take a beautiful walk through the Karst heath, learn about the heritage of the Karst people, and much more. Come and experience Vilenica Cave during these beautiful festival days!

9.30am–13pm: Excursion by mountain bike along the geosites in surroundings of the Vilenica cave

9am–13pm: Cross-border excursion by bike Trieste-Bazovizza-Vilenica cave

9am–17pm: Opening of the exhibition of speleological photographs by the internationall acclaimed slovene photographer  Peter Gedei (the exhibition will be open from May 19th till May 21st and from May  26th till May 28th)

12am–17pm: Guided tours of the Vilenica cave for slovene speakers (every hour)

At 13pm and at 16pm: Guided tours of the Vilenica cave for italian speakers

13pm–16pm: Workshops on the theme “Discovering the Karst and its speleology”

13pm–16pm: Travelling didactic exhibition “The classical Karts area and the cross-border Geopark”

14pm–17pm: A musical afternoon with Tinkara Kovač, Tomaž Nedoh and Stefano Bembi

Applications: Due to the limited number of places available, it is necessary to make reservations for the excursions and cave tours at: sezana@visitkras.info, while for the Trieste-Bazovizza-Vilenica Cave Cross-border Bicycle Excursion you are kindly requested to make reservations at: curiosidi natura@gmail.com up to 3 days before the event. In case of bad weather, side events will be cancelled and you will be informed in due time. Free visits to the cave will be held regardless of weather conditions. 

All events take place at the Vilenica Cave and provide free admission for all visitors.
