The Slovenian Academic Beekeeping Association and the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia, as part of the Interreg ITA-SLO Bee2gether project, are organizing the Poklukar Days, the 5th Scientific Conference on Bees and Beekeeping, which will take place on Friday, 29 November 2024, at 9:00 AM at the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia, Hacquetova ul. 17, Ljubljana.
The conference will begin with a commemoration of the work of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janez Poklukar and his significant contribution to the development of Slovenian beekeeping. This will be followed by seven presentations from Slovenian experts and three international contributions, including an invited lecture by Dr. Cecilia Costa.
Conference topics will include:
- environmental monitoring with honeybees,
- wild bees in Slovenia,
- supporting pollinators in intensive agricultural landscapes to enhance biodiversity,
- breeding and conservation of honeybees,
- bee diseases,
- breeding programs in beekeeping,
- alternative pastures for bees,
- biodiversity conservation.
