In June, we've tested the first prototype of our eDNA marine water sampling device in Piran with our project partners Morigenos, DBC and Shoreline.
This device is a key component of SeaInsights, which aims to improve conservation and management of the Northern Adriatic through eDNA-based biodiversity monitoring and public participation. The device pumps seawater through filters as the boat sails along a designated route, streamlining eDNA collection.
This test brings us closer to comprehensively assessing marine biodiversity in the Northern Adriatic, including the early detection of invasive species.
