The agreement signed this morning at the "Pertini" center by president Pinelli and mayor Toffolo. Also present were the local voluntary associations who in the future will actively participate in the implementation of the agreed measures.
PORTOGRUARO - Facilitate home care, ensure monitoring of elderly people and implement all useful strategies to promote active ageing. These are some of the objectives underlying the Community Pact signed this morning at the "Pertini" center by the Residenza per anziani Francescon and the Municipality of Portogruaro.
The agreement is part of the "CrossCare 2.0" project, included in the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Programme and led by the lead partner Cooperativa sociale Itaca, which involves various entities in Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Slovenia, including the partner Residenza Francescon. For CrossCare 2.0, co-financed with over 529 thousand euros from the European Regional Development Fund, the Portogruaro nursing home obtained a loan of 100 thousand euros, useful for developing a project to take care of elderly residents in the city, in synergy with public and private bodies. The president of Francescon, Caterina Pinelli, and the mayor of Portogruaro, Luigi Toffolo, signed the agreement. Various local volunteer associations were also present.
What the agreement provides.
Francescon has been active for months in taking care at their homes of 10 elderly residents in Portogruaro, through gymnastics lessons, socialization meetings and personalized plans for various needs. The areas of collaboration now extend to civil society thanks to the Community Pact and will concern the development of support actions for integrated home services, the implementation of continuous assistance programs and the standardization of actions relating to social transport in the area. But also the development of recreational, cultural and social activities that encourage the active participation of the elderly, preventing isolation and promoting psychophysical well-being. Without forgetting the organization of transversal training programs for volunteers and the promotion of research projects to study new technological and methodological solutions that improve the quality of life of the elderly.
“This project - explains the president of IPAB, Caterina Pinelli - gives a concrete response to the needs of the elderly in the area. Among those most frequently encountered is the late taking into care not only of the person but also of his family, due to poor prevention and insufficient development of home care. Francescon, with this signature and thanks to its skills, further consolidates itself as a cutting-edge service center not only in the welcome and receptivity of its residents, but also in external services in collaboration with local institutions".
“Portogruaro - commented the mayor, Luigi Toffolo - has adhered with determination to this Community Pact to combat the current lack of diagnosis and integration between the various health and social care services, as well as with the associative realities and the community fabric, often characterized by fragmented actions. These aspects are accentuated by the effects of the economic crisis, which has led to an increase in poverty and a reduction in public spending, putting welfare systems under stress. The Municipality is present on this front and wants to do its part".
