On November 7th, 2024, the event organised by the INTERACT Programme entitled ‘Risk-based management verifications in Interreg’ took place in Budapest.
This important event focuses on key topics such as the implementation of risk-based management verifications for the programming period 2021-2027, as well as the definition of a sampling methodology required for administrative and on-the-spot checks. This period marks a significant change from previous practices, emphasising the need for management verifications proportionate to the risks identified ex-ante and documented in writing.
Thus, the opportunity is taken to provide a platform for institutions actively involved in the Interreg Programme to discuss and exchange practical approaches, good practice, first results, lessons and experiences learned and potential pitfalls and problems related to this new framework.
The objective of the workshop was to:
- Remind participants of the legal requirements for management reviews in the period 2021-2027.
- Address open questions and concerns on RBMV, collectively exploring potential solutions.
- Discuss lessons learned in developing methodologies for RBMV, including practical examples from Interreg programmes.
- Discuss initial results of the application of the RBMV approach.
The event was specifically designed for:
- the Managing Authorities (MAs) of Interreg Programmes
- the Joint Secretariats (JS)
- the Audit Authorities (AA)
- the National Controllers (NCs).
