From 13 April, the Karst gmajna Festival once again invites you to discover the richness of the area's natural and cultural heritage.
Spring, with the Karst gmajna Festival, once again invites you to one of the oldest cultural landscapes in Europe, where nature and people intertwine in a unique way. The Festival of Nature and Heritage Tourism invites you to discover the rich biodiversity of the Karst and Brkini region and its exceptional cultural heritage. The spring cycle of festival days from 13 April to 12 May will include various thematic hikes, cycling tours, creative workshops, cultural events and culinary events.
The Karst gmajna Festival brings many varied events to the Karst, where visitors will explore the rich natural and cultural heritage of the area, which will be the future home of a cross-border geopark. Most of the events of the Kraška gmajna Festival are free of charge for visitors, which is why the festival is a great opportunity to visit the hidden corners of our area.
The festival organises themed hikes, bike rides, workshops and culinary experiences, all highlighting the rich interplay between nature and people. This year, the festival brings together various organisations working in the field of tourism; the Regional Development Agency of Karst and Brkina (ORA Krasa in Brkinov) has taken on the role of main organiser and coordinator of the festival. The co-organisers and initiators of the festival are the Municipality of Divača, the Škocjan Caves Park, Miren-Kostanjevica Tourism, Kobilarna Lipica and the Botanical Garden at Villa Mirasso, and the festival has also attracted the participation of local providers, the Carstica Organic Farm, the Garden of the Stubble Garden Association and GremoGreenway, who complement the diversity of the Karst moorland with authentic experiences. This year's festival programme consists of 13 events, the full programme is available at https://www.visitkras.info/nacrtuj-obisk/dogodki/festival-kraska-gmajna
