Primorski Tehnološki Park, 1 August 2024 - Following the Kick Off meeting hosted by PTP in May and the first operational meetings between the partners, the BEST - Pathway for BEtter, Sustainable and connected Territory project has officially kicked off with the creation of a survey targeting stakeholders from the tourism, cultural and culinary sector in the cross-border area between Italy and Slovenia.
The project addresses key challenges for local stakeholders, who are often faced with
- a limited capacity to adopt innovative and creative approaches
- insufficient knowledge of digital and green technologies;
- a lack of skills necessary for sustainable development;
- a lack of action plans to connect cross-border providers;
- the absence of an integrated offer involving all actors involved in the creation of tourism and cultural content.
BEST aims at enhancing the capacities of local providers, enabling them to develop innovative solutions for a digital, green and sustainable transition. Through targeted training courses, the project will improve the entrepreneurial and innovative skills of the operators involved. In addition, a strategic document will be drawn up for the creation of a cross-border pathway focusing on innovation, creativity and networking.
This new route will connect the area's tourist and cultural facilities, improving the visibility of the area and its operators, both among the local population and visitors from Slovenia and Italy. With BEST, the region is preparing to become an example of sustainable and connected tourism, enhancing local resources and promoting smart and inclusive growth.
If you are a tourism operator, do not hesitate to contact the project staff to find out all the opportunities that BEST will offer, free of charge, to your business over the next 2 years.
