The inaugural meeting for the ALL-MICRO Project was held at the University of Trieste (UniTs) on April 22, 2024. The meeting marked the start of a collaborative initiative aimed at facilitating and streamlining access to specialized microscopes in imaging centers on both sides of the Italian-Slovenian border for users from public institutions and private companies. Participants included representatives from various institutions and partner organizations:
- UniTs: Gabriele Baj, Rita De Zorzi, Gianluca Turco, Agnes Thalhammer
- CNR-IOM: Behnaz Abbasgholi, Simone Dal Zilio
- UNG: Mattia Fanetti, Blaž Belec, Andraž Iungi
- PTP: Bojana Cipot
- Nanocenter: Martina Knavs

The meeting agenda, meticulously prepared by UniTs, was presented through a series of PowerPoint slides by the lead partner, Gabriele Baj. Baj announced that he would temporarily act as Communication Manager until a new hire, funded by the project, could take on the role. He outlined the milestones to be achieved in the next six months, emphasizing the Board of Experts (BoE), whose nominations must be submitted by all partners by May 19. It was agreed that partners must provide documentation related to their commitments and available resources.
The meeting concluded with an agreement among the partners on the next steps, including monthly meetings of the future BoE and Management Board, a summer and winter school, and the submission of documents and nominations for the BoE. The collaborative spirit and detailed planning set a positive tone for the project’s future efforts.
