TRECAP's photogrammetry activities in Slovenia and joint experimentation with colleagues from the Upper and Middle Adriatic on new materials for larval collectors are underway.
The first photogrammetric survey activities have started with colleagues from CNR ISMAR Venice and NIB of Piran who spent the days 6-7-8 May for the first surveys in front of Piran and along the Italian-Slovenian border. Furthermore, networking actions continue among the projects that deal with Pinna nobilis in the Adriatic. At the headquarters of the Nacionalni inštitut za biologijo, in Slovenia, a day was organized dedicated to the preparation of the "larval collectors" which will be positioned at the beginning of the summer, in the hope of collecting the greatest number of juvenile individuals to be allocated for transplants in areas that the various projects have already identified.
Present were the researchers from the Interreg TRECAP, POSEIDONE and LIFE PINNA projects with their colleagues from Natura Histrica. After careful evaluation, it was decided to start testing the efficiency of two different collector construction "materials". Each will position, with coordinated timing, the two types in the different stations. On May 28 the researchers will meet again in Trieste to build the collectors which will then be positioned in the various sites.
