On April 15th, a meeting was held at the Iuav University of Venice with a class from the Military Naval School "Francesco Morosini". An event organized in collaboration with CNR-ISMAR and CORILA to raise awareness among the new generations about coastal-marine environmental protection and maritime activities management.
After a brief introduction to management processes, such as maritime spatial planning and ICZM, and to European projects supporting research development on the topic in the upper Adriatic, such as the Interreg Italy-Slovenia POSEIDONE, students and professors had the opportunity to engage in the MSP Challenge, an educational game created by the Dutch Ministry of Environment, the University of Breda, and the European Commission as a tool to simulate management situations of marine areas and coastal territories.
An intense session in which the students showed interest and collaborative skills for integrated management of human activities and the environment.
The event, included among the activities of the European Maritime Day 2024, was made possible thanks to the support of the POSEIDONE and MSP4BIODIVERSITY projects.
