The Italian partner Caorle.IT, which has many years of experience in the tourism sector, is planning to launch two new boat routes in the Venice Lagoon this summer. To this end, it has ordered the construction of a new electric vessel in collaboration with Compagnia Litoranea Veneta, project partner Vegal, and the municipalities of Caorle and Concordia Sagittaria. The boat will be able to carry 25 people and bicycles. It will sail on the canals between Caorle, Duna Verde and Concordia Sagittaria. The vessel is co-financed by the Inter Bike III project.
The boat is equipped with electric motors powered by solar panels and an auxiliary engine to gasoline. The vessel was designed by Daniele Marson, who is considered a promoter of river tourism in the Venetian Lagoon. The design is by Studio Telesca in Novara and the boat was built in Lombardy, at the Nettuno Motobarche shipyard in Codogno, specialised in river craft. It arrived in Caorle in December 2024 and is due to be fitted with solar panels and seating by the end of January.
The new vessel will be operated by Compagnia Litoranea Veneta, which already manages the Xlagoon (Caorle-Bibione) and Caorle-S.Gaetano boat lines. The free trips between Caorle, Duna Verde and Concordia Sagittaria will start in 2025 tourist season. Another new connection between Falconera and ValleVecchia is also on the horizon. This summer, the Venetian Lagoon will therefore be enriched by several boat lines that will shorten the journeys of visitors and locals across the river beds and canals.
