The Mediterranean Institute for Environmental Studies of the Science and research Centre Koper organized two workshops at the end of August to raise awareness of the local population and especially the young generations about the importance of the Rižana River, its rich biodiversity and ecosystem services it provides.
The workshop for the general public, which took place on August 24, was focused on getting to know the biodiversity of this area in a playful way, namely through a game called biodiversity bingo.
The workshop organized on August 26 was intended exclusively for children, who could better understand the importance of ecosystem services for the development and well-being of society, especially local communities, through the activity of making a model with recycled materials.
