The Circular.Buildings project will analyze as a good practice of applying circular economy principles in construction some renovations promoted by the municipality of Tavagnacco
The first year of the Circular.Buildings project is entirely dedicated to sector research. The partnership is scouting international best practices on virtuous circular economy systems, key emerging innovations, as well as legislation for construction waste management. In parallel, field research, both quantitative and qualitative, is about to be launched to understand the level of maturity of the local context, both at the general level and at the level of individual operators in the supply chain, so that the best practices best suited to our territories can be selected.
In this context, in order to strengthen the comparative analysis between Italy and Slovenia, it was decided to identify two local case studies, one in Italy and one in Slovenia, which will provide valuable information on processes, best practices and relationships and how they can be further augmented to achieve the project objectives: a case of recent renovation of a school in Italy and one in Slovenia will be studied.
For Italy, the Municipality of Tavagnacco in particular has been identified as a relevant Partner, which has given its willingness to collaborate in the Circular.Buildings project.
On October 25, the first operational meeting was held at the City Hall, in the presence of representatives of the Partnership (Ecipa Lead Partner and University of Udine responsible for this section of the research) and the administration. This is a collaboration that will greatly enrich the research as well as all subsequent project steps, and may result in a mutual exchange of value.
News about the start of the analysis of the Slovenian case study as well will be forthcoming.
