The Municipality of Ilirska Bistrica, project partner of the project Inter Bike III of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia programme, has launched a series of workshops to bring together stakeholders in the area of the D7 cycle route and to establish a cycling product on the route.
The Municipality of Ilirska Bistrica launched a series of workshops at the end of January to present the project and project activities to all municipalities through which the national cycle route D7 passes. The first workshop took place on 31 January 2024 in Divača and was intended for karst municipalities of the Coastal-Karst region, while the second workshop was organised on 7 February 2024 in the premises of the Municipality of Nova Gorica.
Boštjan Primc from the Municipality of Ilirska Bistrica presented the Inter Bike III project and the content of the product part, which will be related to the proposals for the new route of the D7 long-distance cycle route. Representatives from the GoodPlace Institute presented the basic guidelines for the establishment of the new cycling product, which will be mainly based on the D7 corridor, and the proposal for the route. Participants at both meetings suggested some changes to individual sections that will be taken into account in the new version of the route. The design of the product, its name, its organisational form, its management structure and the establishment of a consortium of stakeholders along the route were also discussed.
All these topics will be further defined after the third workshop scheduled in Tolmin.
