From August 24th to 29th, the traditional AGRA fair was held in Gornja Radgona (https://www.sejem-agra.si/).
As part of the fair, an event titled "Innovative Projects of the Faculty of Biotechnology, University of Ljubljana for the Transition to a Sustainable Society" took place on August 27th.
At the invitation of the organizers, Bojana Bogovič Matijašić, representing the partner IML-PRO, introduced the DAIRY+ project. She presented the project partners, expected outcomes, and the planned work schedule, while also discussing the challenges related to the dairy supply chain, which are common to the regions of Posočje, Friuli Venezia Giulia, and Veneto. Additionally, she highlighted some results from two completed projects focused on the valorization of whey, the primary byproduct of milk processing, in which the research group from the Institute of Dairy Science and Probiotics at the Faculty of Biotechnology, University of Ljubljana played a key role.
It was emphasized that the DAIRY+ project aims to strengthen the collaboration among stakeholders in the regions of Posočje, Friuli Venezia Giulia, and Veneto, while also supporting the green transition and promoting the circular economy within the supply chain.
