On Wednesday, 22 May 2024, the kick-off meeting of the partners of the TORRENT project of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme took place in Koper.
The participants were welcomed by Giuliano Nemarnik, Director of the Regional Development Centre Koper, the host organisation of the event. This was followed by presentations by all project partners and a short presentation of the project by Dr. Prof. Federico Cazorzi from the University of Udine, the lead partner of the project. After a short break, the presentation of the work packages, activities and results, as well as the financial content of the project followed. Just before lunch, a discussion on the activities, pilot areas, working groups, communication activities and budget took place and continued after lunch.
A day later, on 23 May 2024, individuals from the University of Udine, the University of Ljubljana and the Koper Regional Development Centre visited some of the potential pilot watercourses in Slovenian Istria and came across interesting and 'beautiful' built structures in the middle of the forest.
