On October 2, 2024, the second meeting of the Ero-STOP partners took place at the Chamber of Crafts and Enterprises in Ajdovščina, providing an important opportunity to review the ongoing activities and plan the next steps of the project. After a brief refreshment and an opening speech by the event host, the Municipality of Ajdovščina, the active part of the partnership meeting began.
WP1 was presented at the meeting by representatives of KGZ NG: Karmen Bizjak Bat (LP) illustrated the future activities and project outcomes for WP1, and Vasja Juretič discussed the technical aspects of erosion in the Slovenian territory. Barbara Fortuna (University of Ljubljana) also contributed to the WP1 activities with a presentation on the state of Slovenian legislation, while Alberto Bonora (IUAV) provided an overview of the legislation at the European, Italian national, and regional levels. Tanja Dimitrijević (Municipality of Ajdovščina) moderated the meeting and coordinated the project activities, presenting the activities and results of WP2. Marco Dal Monego from VeGAL, the main partner for communication, spoke about the communication strategy and the project's communication activities. The last presentation of the first part was an overview of the project costs and the expected expenses in the upcoming reporting periods to implement the project's financial plan. This section was presented by Igor Košir, technical assistant to the lead partner.
The meeting set milestones for the implementation of some activities and agreed on a tentative date for the next two-day visit dedicated to best practices, which will take place in two locations in Italy.
Due to bad weather, the afternoon activities, initially planned to visit the best (and worst) practices of the Slano Blato landslide and the erosion area of Zavino, were presented through photos and videos, along with a detailed chronology of events that influenced the current situation. The locations were presented by the commander of Civil Protection of Ajdovščina, Igor Benko, and the coordinator of Civil Protection for the Municipality of Ajdovščina, Matevž Brataševec. After the presentations, a constructive discussion followed with colleagues from the University of Ljubljana, who have been involved in managing the Slano Blato landslide for nearly 25 years. They emphasized the importance of addressing the landslide area for the project.
