On 6 February 2nd partner meeting of the IN4SAFETY project took place. Partners walked through the activities emphasizing what had been done and outlined further steps.
Firstly, what had been carried out in both projects and assessment of the completeness of the databases already available from both projects was discussed regarding WebGIS projects. The data will be integrated into the 2 project action plans; new data available will be used to prepare an action plan to upgrade the Emergency Management Plan for the Metropolitan City of Venice, which will include updated procedures for cross-border cooperation, according to the new organization of Civil Protection in the metropolitan area; all necessary data will also be integrated into air rescue operations action plan that is being prepared at the Municipality of Ajdovščina.
Formation programs are being formed under the aegis of Public Institute for Fire and Rescue Service – Fire Unit Nova Gorica - GENG. GENG is responsible for the preparation of joint training programs for managing interventions in the event of cross-border disasters, communication with a dictionary of common phrases and for the use and maintenance of WEBGIS systems. With regards to this, working groups were established and will presumably finish their work in May 2024.
Apart from that, meetings with GO!2025 to present the project initiatives and discuss potential collaboration had also been held including other meetings at regional and state levels (ITA-SLO) to present activities and potential collaboration. Possible working sites for the joint cross-border exercise and preliminary joint exercise budget were identified. As a result of cooperation with project GO! 2025 a Memorandum of Understanding is being drafted: it will support project initiatives by contributing to the communication and dissemination of the activities to be carried out at local level.
Thank you partners for the great work you have been doing!
