There was great participation in the three-day ‘teachers’ workshop’ organised by WWF AMP Miramare aimed at teachers and educators from schools in the FVG Region to present the educational activities and special educational projects for the 2024-25 school year, such as the play and educational workshops of the Interreg VI-A ITA-SLO POSEIDONE Project.
There were various activities in which the teachers got involved with great interest and enthusiasm: from the exploration of the seashore in search of traces of the organisms that inhabit this and other marine environments, to the naturalistic en plein air drawing workshop, to the focus on the comic strip technique as a tool for science dissemination, to the in-depth study of the underwater soundscape, communication in the animal world and the importance of silence and listening in nature, including for the neurological development of children. All of these activities are explored in depth on these and other topics in the game-puzzle ‘Underwater Intrigues’, which has been given in several copies to all teachers so that they can try it out in the classroom with their pupils, thus discovering the marine fauna and flora and the birdlife component that populate our Gulf and can be found along the rows of the extensive mussel farms on the Trieste coast, a true biodiversity hot spot.
