Video Recording at Ca' Foscari University and Partner Visits
On June 28, 2024, representatives from the BeBlue project partners—KZ Agraria Koper, KGZS Kranj, Shoreline, and Legacoop—visited the pilot aquaponic system at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. The university, which leads the BeBlue project, showcased the operation of the aquaponic system, currently cultivating samphire, a true gourmet delicacy.
On that day, representatives from the Italian partners—Ca' Foscari University, Legacoop, and Shoreline—also recorded educational video content. The first two videos are longer: the first presents the pilot aquaponic system at the University of Venice, while the second focuses on the development of the digital twin. The third video is a brief statement from the Legacoop partner about their activities within the project. You will be able to watch these videos next month on our social media channels.
Visits to the Aquaponic System at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana
On June 13, 2024, students from a nearby primary school visited the pilot lettuce production in the aquaponic system at the Biotechnical Faculty. For many, it was their first time seeing this innovative method of lettuce cultivation.
In July, 2024, a meeting of the Slovenian BeBlue project partners took place, where they analysed the activities so far, reviewed crop yields, and planned future educational events. Representatives from the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana, KZ Agraria Koper, and KGZS Kranj Institute reviewed the experiment results together to determine which of the aquaponic systems is the most effective.
Our goals: raising awareness of sustainable food production methods and sharing knowledge with the public. Join us at our upcoming events and discover the magic of aquaponics!
