In February 2025, the Recreate project will come into full swing with two major events: an intermediate event in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, involving companies and policymakers to discuss cross-border legislation, scheduled for February 13, and a study visit at the Gees Recycling facilities in Pordenone.
Capacity Building for Businesses in Slovenia:
The event, organized by URES (Slovensko deželno gospodarsko združenje – Slovenian Regional Economic Union) in collaboration with OZS (Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia), will take place in February 2025 (date to be confirmed) and is aimed at Slovenian and Italian manufacturing companies. The main goal is to provide companies with the necessary skills to implement circular economy solutions in managing CFR waste.
During the capacity-building session, participants will have the opportunity to:
Learn about the regulations governing waste shipment between Slovenia and Italy within pilot projects, explore a concrete example of good practice, and understand the implementation of a circular economy solution.
Discover innovative CFR recycling technologies, such as the patented solution by Gees Recycling, which transforms waste into 100% recyclable Recomplax panels, reusable in the company’s production processes.
Explore business opportunities associated with the circular economy, including using CFR waste to create new products.
Study Visit to Gees Recycling Facility
Following the capacity-building event, another project activity will be a study visit to the Gees Recycling facility in Aviano (PN). The study visit, organized in collaboration with PoloAA, Gees, OZS, SPINEA, and URES, aims to offer a practical demonstration of the circular economy model for CFR in action.
During the visit, participants will:
Observe the recycling and production processes for CFR materials at the Gees Recycling facility and view products created through material collection and collaboration.
Visit the site of one of the project partners to learn about the CFR waste collection campaign implemented by the Municipality of Spinea, involving active collaboration with citizens.
Engage with sector experts in a constructive dialogue on challenges and opportunities within the field.
The study visit targets various stakeholders, including:
Companies producing CFR products and waste.
Companies involved in waste management.
Representatives of municipalities and other actors at the local and regional levels.
