On November 12, 2024, the Rizzi Library of the University of Udine hosted two significant events for the DAIRY+ project: the second project meeting and the first meeting of the recently established Cross-Border Stakeholder Group (CBSG). Both events were organized by the project partner Fondazione Agrifood & Bioeconomy FVG (FAB FVG).
The morning was dedicated to the internal partnership meeting, where the progress of the work and the first results obtained were shared, including the supply chain mapping, the creation of the CBSG, and the definition of the guidelines of the capacity-building program for operators in the sector. The communication, capacity building, and experimentation activities planned for the coming months were also discussed and planned. Indeed, 2025 promises to offer numerous opportunities for knowledge transfer and sharing best practices, aiming to valorize supply chain by-products and promote the adoption of circular bioeconomic practices.
The afternoon session brought together project partners, CBSG members—comprising institutions, production, and educational sectors—and some experts and companies in the field (acting as observers).
This first meeting provided valuable insights into the supply chain’s needs and the target products for the pilot testing, which will begin in 2025. This alignment ensures that the project activities will respond to the needs of dairies in the cross-border area, delivering concrete and lasting impacts on the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector.
The meeting concluded with a visit to the state-of-the-art LARA and LABAS laboratories at the University of Udine, where the pilot action at the heart of the DAIRY+ project will be carried out.
The day underscored the importance of cross-border collaboration in tackling shared challenges and seizing added-value opportunities for the dairy sector.
Leveraging the best expertise in the border region, the DAIRY+ project partners are ready to lead the circular transformation of the dairy supply chain.
