On January 22, the DAIRY+ project partners met online to discuss the progress of the work and plan the next activities. During the meeting, a review of completed deliverables and upcoming tasks was carried out, and the next partnership meeting, scheduled to take place in Ljubljana at the beginning of May, was confirmed. The meeting will be combined with the second Cross-border stakeholder group meeting and a visit to two innovative Slovenian companies related to the dairy supply chain.
In the context of WP2's joint capacity-building program, work on preparing the manual of best practices for the valorization of supply chain by-products is progressing, and awareness-raising events and workshops for sector operators are planned. These will focus on technical, sanitary, economic, and regulatory topics to support companies in becoming active participants in the development of a circular bioeconomy for the supply chain.
Regarding WP3, the DI4A of the University of Udine is about to launch the planned pilot action, with an initial characterization of concentrated whey and derived functionalized products, in collaboration with the University of Ljubljana and the Zooprophylactic Institute of the Veneto.
The partners reaffirmed their shared commitment to collaborating to promote the project at upcoming events and to share the results with local stakeholders, facilitating the replicability of the outcomes.
