The BEroots project focuses on solving several challenges faced by the cross-border partnership area. Among the main challenges are: bridging the crisis in tourism after the outbreak of the COVID19 pandemic, developing neglected hinterland areas with tourist potential, balancing tourist flows and promoting sustainable tourism, increasing intergenerational cooperation in tourism, and improving the visibility of lesser-known artists.
The project innovatively combines several activities, including the establishment of sustainable tourism infrastructure, the restoration of cultural heritage, the inclusion of school youth and the elderly in tourism activities, the education of tourist workers, a joint strategy and the promotion of less visited hinterland areas.

The direct effects and results of the project include: a jointly developed strategy, pilot measures to improve tourism infrastructure, education and the organization of joint events, including round tables and cultural events. Through cross border cooperation, the BEroots project effectively addresses challenges and enables a comprehensive treatment of cultural heritage and sustainable tourism. With its activities, the project will contribute to improving the tourist offer, promoting lesser-known artists and strengthening the sustainable development of tourism in the cross-border area. The target groups are local authorities, organizations, tourist workers, school youth and many other stakeholders. The BEroots project represents an innovative approach to solving the challenges of tourism and cultural heritage and ensures a sustainable future for the cross-border partner area.
