On Thursday, July 3, 2025, the third partnership meeting within the cross-border project BEroots - Between Rivers and Lagoons: Artistic Routes took place in the office of the Slovenian Regional Economic Association in Gorizia. The project brings together several Slovenian and Italian partners with the aim of revitalizing cultural and natural heritage and developing sustainable tourism in the partner area.
At the meeting, the project partners reviewed the work done and outlined key activities for the coming months.
The Municipality of Vipava presented the completion of construction work on the Zdravljica House in Podnanos. Pictures of the renovated building were presented to the partners. In the coming months, the cultural and historical building will be furnished with new content, as the house will be dedicated to the life and work of composer Stanko Premrl, author of the melody of the Slovenian national anthem. The Zdravljica House will thus become part of the tourist offer.
The municipality of Savogna d’Isonzo showed to the partners the concrete plans for the establishment of the hiking and cycling trail that will connect important natural and cultural sites in his area. They also presented a plan for rest areas that will be set up in the municipality in the coming months.
The municipality of Savogna d’Isonzo and the Slovenian Regional Economic Association organized a music event on January 19, 2025. The event was attended by most of the project partners' representatives. This was a unique opportunity to present the BEroots project to the citizens of the municipality of Savogna and the wider public and to highlight the cooperation between the municipalities of Savogna d'Isonzo and Vipava. At the same time, we presented the activities that will be carried out within the project to the wider public.
The Slovenian Regional Economic Association showed the partners the project website, which it manages, and emphasized the activities that all partners must share to ensure proper communication of the project to the wider public.
TRG Vipava presented a draft of the brochure on lesser-known artists, which will be produced as part of the project. Those present agreed on minor corrections so that the brochure can be completed soon. The following partners provided the texts that will be included in the brochure: TRG Vipava, the municipality of Savogna d'Isonzo with SDGZ-URES, and Vegal.
The Ajdovščina Adult Education Center has developed three digital themed trails for three different target groups:
- Family Adventure trough Vipava,
- Podnanos: between Stone, Song, and Film, and
- Vipava: Quiet Traces of Great People.
These trails were presented to the project partners. Then, the partner presented the program of the round table, which it is organizing as part of the BEroots project and which will take place at the end of September.
VEGAL presented to the partners the three concerts in wine cellars, which were successfully held last month. This was followed by a presentation of the events planned for the coming period in their area, which aim to connect artistic, cultural, and tourist content.
The partners SDGZ-URES and TRG Vipava coordinated their work on marking cross-border cycling and hiking trail.
After the operational part, the partners also reviewed the financial status of the project and coordinated plans for future costs and implementation of activities.
The meeting ended in a relaxed atmosphere with a social lunch, which further strengthened the cooperation between the partners.
The BEroots project successfully combines cross-border cooperation and innovative approaches to the promotion of cultural heritage and sustainable tourism. The partners expressed their satisfaction with the effectiveness of the meeting, which was crucial for coordinating activities and further implementing the project objectives.
