Cross-border public passenger transport as part of the cycling experience in a tourist destination
Welcome to a conference on public passenger transport and the establishment of cross-border bus and rail connections and support services for cyclists. The cross-border area is facing the issues of (missing) cross-border public transport connections, as well as the desire to create a common cycling destination, where the support services for cyclists are crucial for success. Good practices of cross-border bus and rail connections between Slovenia and Italy and Italy and Austria will be presented, some of which have been developed in the framework of cross-border projects.
The good practice presentations will be rounded off by a panel discussion, focusing in particular on support services for cyclists, cycling infrastructure in the cross-border area and cycling destination management. The inter-state agreement governing cross-border public transport will also be presented, as well as future perspectives and scenarios. Participants will include representatives of the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy, the Public Transport Management Company, Tourism Bohinj, FVG Region, Veneto Region, Promoturismo FVG and the public transport operators: Slovenian Railways, Nomago, TrenItalia/RFI and TPL FVG.
Join us on 28 November, between 9.30 and 12.30 at Villa Vipolže in Brda (SI).
Simultaneous translation into Slovenian and Italian will be available at the consultation. Registration for the event is required and will be possible until Monday 25 November 2024.
