The CIRCULAR RAINBOW project will take part in the 63rd edition of the AGRA International Agricultural and Food Fair, one of the most prominent events in the agri-food sector in Central and Eastern Europe. The fair will take place from 23 to 28 August 2025 in Gornja Radgona, Slovenia. Project partners will be present on Wednesday, 27 August, at Stand No. 816, Hall B, with a dedicated space focused on circular and sustainable aquaculture.
The initiative is coordinated by KGZS – Zavod KR and is part of the project’s communication and outreach activities to promote an innovative, resilient and sustainable model of trout farming. The project is co-financed by the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme.

Throughout the day, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the project’s goals and actions, explore a 3D model of the RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture System), collect informative material, and engage in discussion with project representatives. The RAS system is a virtuous example of sustainable fish farming, offering efficient use of water and space with a reduced environmental impact.
CIRCULAR RAINBOW develops and promotes circular aquaculture models that combine environmental, economic, and social sustainability. A strong focus is placed on digitalisation and technological innovation, which enable advanced monitoring and improved management of production systems.
The stand will also feature awareness-raising activities and educational materials on conscious consumption and the importance of circular aquaculture for the future of food production. Special emphasis will be placed on promoting healthy, safe, and high-quality food choices. Visitors will receive information about the importance and benefits of aquaculture fish as a food source that is nutritious, safe, traceable, and produced with full respect for the environment and animal welfare.
Participation in the AGRA 2025 fair represents an important opportunity to strengthen cross-border cooperation between Italy and Slovenia, to foster dialogue among research institutions, businesses, public authorities, and citizens, and to share innovative solutions to address the challenges of climate change in the aquaculture sector.
Being present at AGRA also means contributing to the broader dissemination of a more responsible production culture—one that values product quality, food safety, animal welfare, and environmental stewardship. The fair is a strategic opportunity to build new connections, share knowledge, and reflect on the future of sustainable agriculture and aquaculture.
We look forward to welcoming you on Wednesday, 27 August 2025, from 9:00 to 18:00, in Gornja Radgona – Hall B, Stand 816.
