We are pleased to invite you to the next event of the ECO2SMART project – WORKSHOP for raising awareness of active participation: the importance of phanerogams for the health and balance of marine ecosystems, which will be held on Tuesday 12 November 2024 at the Diporto Nautico in Sistiana (Duino-Aurisina), starting at 16:00.
During the meeting, two experts will present the fundamental role of phanerogams in maintaining the balance of the marine environment, as they provide essential habitats for many species and contribute to improving water quality. Concrete examples of transplants carried out in the Adriatic Sea will also be illustrated.
The event will represent an important opportunity to promote the active participation of citizens on a crucial issue such as the conservation of phanerogam meadows.
Participants will be encouraged to take note of reflections on the topics of greatest interest during the presentations. These notes will then be used to fuel discussions in the thematic tables, encouraging in-depth and constructive comparison.
In addition, they will have the opportunity to identify areas suitable for replanting phanerogams or to make their facilities and means available to be actively involved as citizens. They will be able to contribute to preparatory activities, post-transplant monitoring, or similar projects.
I also remind you that the ECO2SMART workshop sessions will include two more meetings:
Late January 2025 at the Scientific Research Centre in Koper, where the topic Urban climate resilience: multiple benefits of blue and green infrastructures for climate change adaptation will be discussed.
Mid-March 2025 Veneto region (place to be defined) with the topic Ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) and disaster risk reduction (Eco-DRR) in agricultural environments.
We sincerely hope to count you among our participants and remain at your disposal for any clarifications.
