Specific objective: SO 6 - enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation

The common challenge of the program area in the field of tourism and related cultural production is the development of opportunities of a sustainable and innovative nature, tourism being an important resource of the area, also in consideration of the possibilities of creating products and development of new enterprises, also directed by weak subjects. The general objective of the project was therefore to improve activities to conserve, evaluate, develop, and promote the cultural heritage of Giuseppe Tartini and his era and followers, to help answer the demand for sustainable tourism in the Program area. The innovativeness was represented by the use of digital tools in a sector such as classical music which is normally considered an opportunity reserved for a few enthusiasts, together with the involvement of operators and in particular young musicians who were able to take advantage of the project's opportunities in terms of development of the overall tourist offer of the territory.

In Piran-Pirano and Venice, sources related to Giuseppe Tartini have been digitized
One of the focal points of the TARTINI BIS project was the research activity, conducted mainly at the Library of the Conservatory “Benedetto Marcello” in Venice, the Biblioteca Marciana, and the “Milner” Library of the “Ugo e Olga Levi” Foundation in Venice. Over 130 musical sources containing 90 compositions and theoretical writings by Tartini were studied, with analysis of manuscripts and prints from the 18th and 19th centuries. This work preceded the digitization of the new sources, carried out by the Conservatory “Benedetto Marcello” in collaboration with the University “Ca’ Foscari.”

Another research strand focused on the Tartini Family Collection, preserved at the Piran-Pirano branch of the Regional Archives of Koper-Capodistria, involving the review, reorganization, and digitization of the material published on the Discover Tartini website. The Piran-Pirano Collection cosists of 11 archival folders and 445 archival items (letters, documents, calculations, newspaper clippings, etc.),

Tartini Cross Border Youth Orchestra
The Tartini Cross Border Youth Orchestra was established within the TARTINI BIS project as a musical and cultural laboratory dedicated to young talents from the cross-border area. Under the direction of renowned violinist and conductor Federico Guglielmo, a profound connoisseur of Giuseppe Tartini’s legacy, the orchestra aims to renew the European spirit embodied by Tartini and his pioneering “School of Nations”. The ensemble brings together more than 20 musicians under the age of 30 from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.
Through music, the Tartini Cross Border Youth Orchestra promotes the values of dialogue, inclusion, and cooperation, becoming a symbol of cultural integration and friendship among people.
