On September 16, 2025, in the Training Classrooms of the Ospedale dell’Angelo in Mestre (ULSS 3), the “0 edition” of the course on the management of traumatized patients in complex scenarios took place.
Thanks to the immersive Virtual Reality headsets (Accurate’s InvolveXR) purchased through the AidMIRE – INTERREG Project, healthcare professionals were able to experience realistic and safe scenarios, practicing not only clinical skills but above all Non-Technical Skills: communication, leadership, decision-making, and teamwork.
Each scenario ended with a group debriefing, a key moment to transform the experience into shared learning and to strengthen the culture of patient safety.
With this innovative approach, the course represented a concrete step towards increasingly experiential and multidisciplinary training, focused on patient safety and the growth of healthcare professionals’ skills, particularly in cross-border emergency situations.
