In spring 2025, the Circular Rainbow project placed young people at the centre of its activities, promoting the connection between education, research, and future careers in sustainable aquaculture. On March 26, during the Go-Youth Event! organized by Interreg in Gorizia, a team of young researchers and technicians represented the project by presenting – with creativity and competence – new professional profiles such as the Next Generation Trout Farmer and the Bio-systems Modelist, conceived and defined by the young participants themselves.
At the same time, in April and May, a series of work-based learning experiences (PCTO) involved over 50 high school students from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Through guided visits, hands-on activities, and orientation sessions at the University of Udine and the RAS plant in Pagnacco, the students explored key themes including circular economy in aquaculture, environmental sustainability, and digital technologies.
These initiatives strengthen Circular Rainbow’s commitment to training a new generation of conscious, skilled professionals capable of tackling the environmental and production challenges of the future.
