Thanks to the Interreg CrossCare 2.0 project, free meetings open to citizens are underway in Sacile, Portogruaro and Notranje Gorice
SACILE - The training part of the CrossCare 2.0 project has started in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto and Slovenia, the objective is to prepare those who deal with the daily care of the elderly in retirement homes or at home in new techniques and relationship strategies towards those who are a fragile segment of the community. The Validation workshops are starting in the retirement homes of Sacile, Portogruaro and Notranje Gorice.
“CrossCare 2.0. Integrated and shared strategies for the capitalization of the CrossCare Model" is a project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), included in the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Program and led by the Itaca Social Cooperative as lead partner.
If on the one hand the project training program is aimed at nursing home staff such as health workers, educators, physiotherapists and social services staff, who share a close daily life with the elderly, on the other hand, special attention is paid to everyone could not be missing those who experience the same fragilities at home. In fact, events are opened to citizens, caregivers, relatives and associations and are planned, in close collaboration with the local project partners. Some dynamic workshops will also highlight practical strategies that everyone can activate and use when they find themselves in difficulty with their loved ones.
The first workshop on the Validation method will be held at the Sacile protected residence in via Ettoreo 4 on April 18th from 9.30 to 12.30. This is an internationally recognized method aimed at providing the appropriate tools for the care and well-being of elderly people with cognitive impairment. The meeting aims to make those who experience the difficult situation of having a relative with Alzheimer's or some type of dementia, what the causes of some behaviors are and how to find a better connection and relationship in the care and treatment process. On May 9th from 9.30 to 12.30 the workshop will also be replicated in Veneto at the Francescon Residence for the elderly in Portogruaro, after starting on April 10th from the DEOS elderly center in Notranje Gorice in Slovenia.
The second workshop, on the GENTLECARE method, will also be held at the Sacile retirement home on June 5th from 3pm to 5pm. Also in this case, the event is aimed at all citizens and will provide relationship tools for all those, family members and not, who find themselves in the difficult situation of caring for elderly people with cognitive decline.
