The BE-LINE project - basketball uniting Gorizia and Nova Gorica, promotes social cohesion, well-being and youth participation through sport and shared cultural heritage. The project's goal is to develop a cross-border model integrating sport, culture and education to promote the inclusion of young people and vulnerable groups, while enhancing local basketball traditions. The project has two main components: the collection and digitisation of historical basketball heritage, which will be made available via the BE-LINE Sport&Memory digital archive and travelling exhibition, “Memories of Basketball”, as well as a multilingual documentary; and inclusive sports activities, including cross-border youth tournaments, training sessions, workshops, and the drafting of “Basketball without Barriers” guidelines. These activities engage schools, sports associations and local communities, encouraging the sustainable use of public sports facilities and strengthening cross-border collaboration between Gorizia and Nova Gorica. The result is a lasting model of inclusive sports and youth participation.
