Light the future
The Light the Future project is an artistic co-creation, training and civic participation programme aimed at young Italians and Slovenians under the age of 30. The project encourages reflection on the legacy of GO!2025 and imagining the future of the cross-border territory. The project aims to strengthen the bonds forged through the European Capital of Culture initiative, transforming the border into a permanent space for cooperation and engaging young people as co-creators of new territorial narratives. The project incorporates training, research and artistic production, offering workshops and artistic residencies in Nova Gorica, an interdisciplinary summer school in Venice, and the creation of cross-border light installations in urban spaces. Light is employed as a universal language to transcend cultural and linguistic barriers. The project aims to develop creative and design skills, promote active citizenship, and produce a replicable model of social innovation and cross-border cooperation.
