As part of the company’s planned replacement and decommissioning program for advanced emergency vehicles, in compliance with current regulations, it was decided to reassess, reschedule, and repurpose an ALS ambulance still in good overall condition. The goal is to equip the service with a logistical and operational vehicle for managing major emergencies and mass casualty events.
From the preliminary study on service needs and functions, along with an assessment of the impact of available and transportable equipment and materials, the MIME Project (Modulo di Intervento per le Maxi Emergenze – Major Emergency Response Module) was developed. This emergency operations module features a dual-compartment design:
• A technical operations station equipped with radio, computer, and television.
• A cargo area designated for transporting medical supplies, electromechanical devices, triage kits, and an Advanced Medical Post (PMA) module.
