CycleProMotion Day: Working Together for Better-Connected and More Sustainable Mobility

As part of European Mobility Week 2026, CycleProMotion Day will take place in Nova Gorica on Monday, 21 September 2026. This informal professional event will bring together project partners, municipalities, organisations and experts working in cycling and sustainable mobility.

The event will combine networking, presentations of projects and practical sustainable mobility solutions, a moderated discussion and a guided cross-border cycling experience.

Purpose of the event

CycleProMotion Day is designed as a relaxed and interactive meeting. It will provide a space for discussion, the exchange of experience, the presentation of good practices and practical solutions, and the exploration of new opportunities for future cooperation.

The event will focus on:

• presenting the CycleProMotion project, its activities and practical results;
• connecting CycleProMotion with other sustainable mobility projects and initiatives;
• presenting good practices and practical solutions;
• discussing links between cycling infrastructure, parking facilities, mobility hubs, digital solutions and applications;
• networking among project partners and other relevant stakeholders;
• providing a practical guided cycling experience.

Programme

9:30–10:00 | Arrival and morning networking

Participant welcome and registration, followed by informal networking over coffee and light refreshments.

10:00–12:00 | CycleProMotion Mobility Talk

A relaxed, moderated discussion on cycling and sustainable mobility. Short presentations of approximately three to five minutes will serve as starting points for the joint discussion.

1. Projects and good practices

• CycleProMotion – presentation of the project, its activities and key results;
• NUTSHELL@CE – mobility hub under development;
• presentation of other relevant projects;
• Livek smart cycling station;
• Bike Friendly network.

2. From projects to practical solutions

An open discussion involving several speakers will focus on:

• bicycle parking and secure bicycle storage;
• bicycle parking boxes;
• mobility hubs;
• integrating individual solutions into a common system;
• interactive information displays;
• useful applications for cyclists and other sustainable mobility users;
• connecting digital solutions, infrastructure and information;
• cross-border cooperation between Slovenia and Italy.

3. Partnerships and the future

The joint discussion will address the following questions:

• What solutions and connections do we already have?
• What is still missing in the field of sustainable mobility?
• Which existing solutions should be better connected?
• Where are the opportunities for cooperation among organisations and projects?
• Which ideas could be developed through future projects?

12:00–12:30 | Refreshments and networking

Light refreshments and informal networking among participants.

12:30 | CycleProMotion Bike Experience – first group

The first group will depart on a guided cross-border e-bike tour.

Through selected stops, the cycling experience will present the post-war division of the Gorizia area, the establishment of Nova Gorica, the development of the two cities and the gradual transformation of the former border zone into today’s cross-border urban area.

12:30–15:30 | Networking & Mobility Corner

Participants remaining at the venue will be able to take part in:

• informal networking;
• bilateral meetings;
• project presentations;
• presentations of applications and digital solutions;
• individual project presentations;
• discussions about new partnerships and future cooperation.

15:30 | CycleProMotion Bike Experience – second group

The second group will depart on the guided cross-border cycling tour.

17:30 | Closing of the event

The event is expected to conclude after the second cycling group returns.
