You are kindly invited to a public event entitled DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY AND CULTURAL HERITAGE IN THE CROSS-BORDER AREA, which will take place on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Centre in Gorizia.
At the public event, we will present how challenges related to digital accessibility are being addressed within the cross-border project DigARegion – Digitally Accessible Region, whose aim is to support organisations in understanding and implementing digital accessibility requirements in practice. The project brings together expertise and experience and adapts them to various target groups – public institutions, municipalities, companies, developers and the general public – with the clear objective of making accessibility an integral part of the planning, development and management of digital services.
In contemporary society, accessibility is no longer an added value, but a fundamental prerequisite for the equal inclusion of all people across all areas – physical spaces, information, digital and other services. In the field of digital services, this means that websites, applications and other digital solutions are designed in a way that enables use by people with various disabilities, older adults and users in different usage contexts. Digital accessibility is not merely a legal obligation; it also contributes to a better user experience, greater clarity and higher quality of digital services for everyone.
