On Thursday 8 October 2026, the co-design workshop for the ECOMAPS project – ‘Environmental and climate change observation through the monitoring of air pollution in cities’ – will take place. The project is co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme and aims to study the interconnection between climate change and air pollution.
The event, held in Italian, it is organised by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in collaboration with the Institute of Polar Sciences of the National Research Council, and will be hosted at the Science Campus to enable citizens and organisations taking part in the workshop to come into direct contact with the environments in which the research is carried out.
It will be an opportunity not only to collaborate with the scientists involved in the project, but also to discover some preliminary findings on the air pollutants they are studying.
The workshop will bring citizens and stakeholders together to brainstorm ideas for the development of a web app capable of providing real-time information on air pollution in the Veneto region and the Ljubljana area.
The event will be repeated in Ljubljana on Tuesday, 24 November 2026 in Slovenian, to allow researchers to gather feedback from all those who will be future users of the web app.
