So far, 575 species of wild bees have been identified in Slovenia, including bumblebees and solitary bees. Although they can easily be found in gardens and meadows, their lives often remain unknown to most people.

To explore this topic, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM, at the Ecomuseum of the Intermittent Lakes of Pivka, a public lecture will be held focusing on the essential role of wild bees. During the event, we will explain why these species are so important for biodiversity, how they live, what threatens their survival, and how we can help protect them.

The lecture will be given by Dr. Danilo Bevk, researcher at the National Institute of Biology and president of the Čmrljica Association, whose work focuses on biodiversity, ecology, pollinator protection, the impact of pesticides, and the role of pollinators in agriculture and urban areas.

Participation is free, and no registration is required. The lecture will be held in Slovenian.

Organizer: Krajinski park Pivška presihajoča jezera
