Recital “Poets Among Rivers and Lagoons” in Podnanos

On Friday, June 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., the square in front of the Parish Church of St. Vid in Podnanos will host a cultural evening featuring the recital “Poets Between Rivers and Lagoons,” which will offer visitors a blend of poetry and music.

The first part of the event will feature poems by lesser-known poets from the cross-border region between rivers and lagoons. The selected works tell stories of places, people, and time, reflecting the creators’ personal dedication, local identity, and commitment to preserving cultural heritage. The recital will be followed by a concert by the Slovenian singer-songwriter and composer Ditka, who will present her musical settings of poetry by Slovenia’s greatest poets. Her musical interpretations of poetry have been delighting audiences across Slovenia for years, connecting the written word with original music.

Admission to the event is free. The event offers an opportunity to engage with the rich poetic heritage of the cross-border region and to enjoy an evening dedicated to the power of poetry, music, and cultural connection.

The event is organized by the TRG Vipava Tourism Board as part of the BEroots – Between Rivers and Lagoons: Artistic Routes project, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg Italy–Slovenia program.
