WORKSHOP
Tartini's music and its reinterpretations in contemporary genres: from rock to electronic

7 March 2025
11:00-13:00
Koper-Capodistria, Gravisi Buttorai Palace, Italian community Santorio Santorio

The workshop, organized by the Italian Union based in Koper as part of the TARTINI BIS project, will be introduced by musicologist Margherita Canale. She will guide students from the italian elementary schools Pier Paolo Vergerio il Vecchio and Gymnasium Gian Rinaldo Carli from Koper-Capodistria in discovering the figure of Giuseppe Tartini and his music, including a contemporary reinterpretation of his works.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore new soundscapes with Maestro Tommaso Luison, a violinist and expert in Baroque music, who will present his experimental reworkings. During the interactive session, students will engage in the creation of electronic music using synthesizers and technological equipment. The interactive stations will be presented by Andrej Rojec, who will guide participants through the possibilities offered by the available instruments and software.

This initiative aims to foster a dialogue between tradition and innovation, sparking curiosity in a young audience and making Tartini’s music more accessible and relevant today.
