Academic seminar organised by the IUAV University of Venice

As part of the Karst Firewall 5.0 project (Interreg VI-A Italia-Slovenija), the IUAV University of Venice is organising an academic seminar dedicated to forest and grassland wildfires in the European Mediterranean region.
The seminar will explore the issue of wildfires in depth through analyses, assessments, and proposals for risk reduction from various countries across the European Mediterranean. The day of presentations is divided into three sessions:
- Risk and Vulnerability Assessments
- Wildfire Adaptation and Spatial Planning
- Adaptation and Wildfires in the Karst Region
The seminar is curated by Massimiliano Granceri Bradaschia and Francesco Musco (IUAV University of Venice) and brings together researchers and experts from across the Mediterranean, including speakers from ADAI, UTAD, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, CNR-IBE, ISIG, ZRC SAZU, and Infordata.
By connecting scientific knowledge and planning practice from Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Italy, and Slovenia, the seminar contributes to strengthening cross-border cooperation on wildfire prevention and climate adaptation in the Karst region and beyond.
The event is part of the Karst Firewall 5.0 project, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Italia-Slovenija programme.
